Week 2 “PATIENCE”
(Please choose one activity to serve others and 1 activity for Fun or choose them all if you would like)
How can You serve God ?
Activities to Serve Others:
Please ask your Parent’s permission before doing an activity
1. Draw a chalk picture on the driveway: (with permission from your parents) thanking all the Health Care workers and First Responders for taking care of all the people that are sick and scared. Let them know how grateful we are for their love and caring.
(Please NO Selfie, ONLY pics of your messages. Applies to this project only.)
2. Make a card or a poster: for the Health Care workers and First Responders telling them how thankful you are for their dedication, patience and love in taking care of all of us.
(Please NO Selfie, ONLY pics of your messages. Applies to this project only.)
3. Decorate signs: for your yard with messages of love and support for all the Healthcare workers and First Responders, tell them “thank you” for everything they do. (Please NO Selfie, ONLY pics of your messages. Applies to this project only.)
4. Mail a Letter and Ask for one back Activity:
Mail a letter to someone you care for outside of your home.
Supplies: cardstock, construction paper or plain paper, crayons, markers or colored pencils, an envelope and a stamp.
Directions:
Talk with your parents about how you will now wait for a friend, grandparent or a relative to write back. Discuss how to be patient while you are waiting for a response.
*Tip for Parents: Let the recipient know you are sending the letter to them so they can look for it and send something back within a reasonable amount of time. You might want to include a return stamp/envelope as well.
Activities for Fun
1. Tissue Paper Cross (see picture of Tissue Paper Cross)
Note: If you put glue in more than one row at a time, it tends to dry out before you get the tissue paper stuck to it. Double stick tape or a glue stick would be another option.
2. Hands on: Sweet Treat Test of Patience
Supplies: A Favorite Sweet Treat (gummy bears, m&m’s, fruit snacks, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips) and 2 Small Bowls or Bags (per person). Ask for your parents help.
Directions:
3. Fruit in Action “Patience”
Brainstorm ways you can be patient this week. Examples: put a puzzle together, bake something with help from your parent, give a friend or sibling an extra dose of grace when they mess up you might give them a hug or use your words to communicate grace.
4. Stations of the Cross Journal
5. Coloring Page
6. Word Search
7. Get the Maze
Remember to Take photos or videos of your creativity and send them to Ms. Holly at [email protected]. (Please provide photos in JPEG form)
You never know if it may appear in the All Souls Bulletin, the All Souls Website or on the next Faith Formation video!
