The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)—formerly known as RCIA—is the process through which adults prepare to become full members of the Catholic Church. It is designed for those who have never been baptized, those baptized in another Christian tradition who seek full communion with the Catholic Church, and baptized Catholics who have not yet received the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.
