The Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a vital step in the Christian journey, strengthening the grace received at Baptism and sealing the recipient with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, Catholics are more deeply united with Christ, enriched with spiritual strength, and called to be active witnesses of faith in the world.
Who Can Receive Confirmation?Baptized Catholics who have reached the appropriate age (varies by diocese) and have received proper formation are eligible. Candidates typically undergo a period of preparation, including catechesis, prayer, and service.
